This Privacy Policy explains how Scan2Note collects, uses, and protects your personal data, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who We Are

SiDDiQUiE.NET is the data controller for personal data processed through Scan2Note.

2. What We Collect

• Account data — first name, last name, and email address, provided when you register.
• Note content — the title, text, and PIN (if set) you enter for each sticky note.
• Scan data — when a note's QR code is scanned, we log the date/time, IP address, and browser/device information (user agent) for analytics and abuse prevention.
• Billing data — for paid plans, payments are processed by our payment provider (Mollie). We do not store your card or bank details ourselves.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To create and manage your account and provide the Service you signed up for.
• To send you account-related emails (registration confirmation, password resets, and — if you're on a Business plan and configure it — webhook notifications when your notes are scanned).
• To show you scan analytics for your own notes.
• To prevent abuse, such as rate-limiting excessive requests to a single note.

4. Legal Basis

We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service you registered for) and, for security/abuse-prevention measures, based on our legitimate interest in keeping the Service safe and reliable.

5. Who We Share Data With

• Hosting provider — our infrastructure is hosted with SID Hosting (the Netherlands).
• Payment provider — Mollie B.V. processes payments for paid plans.
• Your own webhook (Business plan) — if you configure a webhook URL, scan event data for your own notes is sent to that URL. You control this setting.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account and note data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a note, its scan history is deleted with it. You can request full account deletion at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email info@scan2note.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) if you believe your data has been mishandled.

8. Cookies

Scan2Note uses only essential session cookies required to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including hashed password storage and PIN-protected notes for content you choose to keep private.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
